Introduction:

The protection of low voltage in motors is a crucial task in industrial automation. The motors used in industries are expensive and require high maintenance, and any damage to them due to low voltage can result in significant losses. To overcome this issue, Zigbee technology can be utilized to provide low voltage protection for motors. Zigbee is a wireless communication technology that is widely used in industrial automation due to its low power consumption and high reliability. In this article, we will discuss how Zigbee technology can be used to protect low-voltage in motors with the help of a microcontroller.

Zigbee-Based Low Voltage Protection System:

The low-voltage protection system consists of a Zigbee module, a microcontroller, a voltage sensor, and a motor. The voltage sensor is connected to the motor to sense the voltage level, and the Zigbee module is used to transmit the voltage level data to the microcontroller wirelessly. The microcontroller receives the voltage level data and compares it with the predefined threshold level. If the voltage level is below the threshold level, the microcontroller sends a signal to the motor to stop it immediately. This ensures that the motor is protected from any damage due to low voltage.

The microcontroller used in this system is the Atmega328P microcontroller, which is a low-power microcontroller that is widely used in industrial automation. The microcontroller is programmed using the Arduino IDE, which is a user-friendly software that makes programming easy for beginners. The Zigbee module used in this system is the XBee module, which is a low-power, low-cost wireless module that operates on the Zigbee protocol.

Implementation of the System:

To implement the low voltage protection system, we first need to connect the voltage sensor to the motor. The voltage sensor used in this system is the ZMPT101B voltage sensor, which is a high-precision voltage sensor that is widely used in industrial automation. The voltage sensor is connected to the motor using a voltage divider circuit.

Next, we need to connect the Zigbee module to the microcontroller. The Zigbee module is connected to the microcontroller using the UART communication protocol. The XBee module is configured to operate in the Zigbee transparent mode, which allows the microcontroller to send and receive data from the Zigbee module without any additional programming.

Once the hardware connections are made, we need to program the microcontroller using the Arduino IDE. The microcontroller is programmed to receive the voltage level data from the Zigbee module and compare it with the predefined threshold level. If the voltage level is below the threshold level, the microcontroller sends a signal to the motor to stop it immediately.

Conclusion:
